Introduction

Fire safety is a critical component of workplace safety, aiming to prevent fire-related incidents and minimize damage if a fire occurs. This Train The Trainer course is designed to equip instructors with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively teach fire safety principles and procedures to employees. Participants will learn about fire hazards, prevention methods, emergency response, and training techniques to ensure comprehensive workplace fire safety awareness.

Course Objectives

  • Explain fire science fundamentals and classes of fire.
  • Identify fire hazards and conduct workplace risk assessments.
  • Apply fire prevention strategies relevant to the work environment.
  • Demonstrate the use and inspection of DCP, CO₂, water extinguishers, and hydrants (per 29 CFR 1910.157).
  • Lead fire evacuation and emergency drills.
  • Deliver short fire safety training sessions using adult learning principles.
  • Maintain accurate training records and describe compliance requirements for documentation and retention.

  • Recordkeeping Procedures:  How the record are created, stored, and maintained, who will manage them, and the retention period as per legal requirement.

 

Course Duration & Exam

The course spans 2 full days, totaling 12 hours of instruction. A written exam and practical assessment will be conducted at the end to evaluate participants’ knowledge and training skills. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of completion recognized by OSHAcademy, USA. A refresher training is recommended for every two years.
