Course Objectives
Participants will gain the skills to provide comprehensive forklift safety training, focusing on hazard identification, operational best practices, and regulatory requirements to reduce accidents and injuries such as
Conduct a pre-operation forklift inspection and identify at least 5 potential safety issues.
Demonstrate correct load handling procedures, maintaining stability and avoiding tip-overs.
Accurately cite OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 requirements during a compliance review exercise.

Day 1: 6 hours
Introduction to Forklift Types and Components
Workplace Hazards and Risk Assessment
Safe Operating Procedures and Controls
Load Handling and Stability
Regulatory Standards and Compliance
Practical safety scenarios
Coaching and evaluating forklift operators
Hazard recognition for forklift operations, including pedestrian traffic, environmental factors, and stability risks. (workshop)
To incidents such as spills, tip-overs, or collisions, including EMS activation and adherence to the workplace Emergency Action Plan.
Preparation and delivery of micro-teach session to be review and feedback by peers and the instructor.
This 2-day course totals 12 hours, concluding with a written and practical exam. Successful candidates receive a certificate accredited by OSHAcademy, USA. A refresher training is recommended for every two years.
